Halloween 2013

We're obsessed with Halloween in our house.  I mean, it could be bigger than Christmas.  And, for Anna - It's definitely "the most wonderful time of the year."  For a family that loves cozy nights, scary stuff, dressing up, eating candy and general crazy behavior, Halloween is the perfect holiday for the Whelans.

We had a great time this year getting ready for Halloween and then celebrating it with family and friends.  Anna chose to be Merida from the movie Brave and Dex's costume was a last minute change from a Bear to Mike Wisowski from Monsters Inc.  It ended up being the perfect choice as he had everyone dying with laughter...too cute.

It was pouring rain on Halloween, but we managed to get a good hour of trick-or-treating in with Aunt Maggie and my Mom.  It was our first Halloween in our new house and in Wheaton.  While I did happen to miss the block party that occurred every year at Wellington Park in the city, we still had completely enjoyed the day.

Cosley Zoo, Lake Geneva, Didier Farms...all in one weekend.  Love this time of the year and the lovely Indian Summer weather makes it even more beautiful.

Anna Turns 5

I think the video says it all.  Our baby is turning 5.  These years have been full, but has shocked us at how fast they've gone by.  I put this video together to share our Anna's amazing transformation into the beautiful, assertive, inquisitive and loving little girl she is today.

Claire Has Arrived!

This past weekend, the entire Whelan clan ventured up to Minneapolis to meet Claire Katherine Fiamingo for the very first time.  We had a fantastic weekend with Katie and Steve and the 3 first cousins were able to unite.  With my kiddos, the days are full of chaos, laughter, crying and running around, but I was so happy that we were all able to see Claire together.

The baby, of course, was beautiful and Katie and Steve are naturals.  It was wonderful to see Katie as a Mom...she'll be a great one, no doubt.

BTW...Claire was welcomed to this world on July 10, 2013.  We love you Claire!!!
